Discover More About Unique ELiS Composite Coating
Patented coating improving bone ingrowth by up to 30%
Ten stem sizes, three neck geometries, each available in four lengths, together with two dual-mobility cups in two sizes create up to 480 possible combinations. This broad configurability allows surgeons to achieve a precise anatomical fit tailored to each patient’s individual geometry.
The patented composite coating supports enhanced osseointegration, achieving up to 30% greater bone ingrowth compared with conventional Ti+HA or Ti coatings.
This promotes early and strong implant fixation, even in patients with reduced bone quality.
The guidewire-based technique allows controlled and precise bone preparation. Dedicated measuring instruments help optimize cup positioning and sizing, improving surgical accuracy and reproducibility. Whether for experienced surgeons or those newly adopting the technique.

are indicated for surgical intervention
ELiS arthroplasty is indicated for patients suffering from painful degeneration of the trapeziometacarpal joint.
Suitable for moderate to advanced stages of CMC joint osteoarthritis where conservative treatment no longer provides sufficient relief. SEE BELLOW
Indicated for patients experiencing limitations in daily activities due to thumb pain, instability, or decreased grip and pinch strength.
Recommended when non-surgical approaches such as splinting, physiotherapy, or injections do not provide lasting improvement.
Eaton stage I CMC osteoarthritis represents the earliest phase with minimal radiographic changes, slight joint space narrowing, and no subchondral sclerosis or osteophyte formation.
Conservative treatment is indicated (orthosis, NSAIDs, corticosteroid injections).

Indications for arthroplasty:
❌ Not indicated. Patients are monitored for disease progression and potential surgical treatment at later stages.
Eaton stage II CMC osteoarthritis is characterized by mild to moderate degenerative changes, minor joint space narrowing, and osteophytes smaller than 2 mm.
Conservative therapy remains first-line, though minimally invasive procedures may be considered in symptomatic cases.

Indications for arthroplasty:
⚠️ Considered for symptomatic patients not responding to conservative treatment, especially younger and more active individuals seeking to preserve thumb mobility and function.
Eaton stage III CMC osteoarthritis shows significant joint space narrowing, osteophytes larger than 2 mm, and subchondral sclerosis with deformity of the articular surface.
The ELiS implant is indicated for suitable candidates with good bone quality.

Indications for arthroplasty:
✅ Strongly indicated. Artroplasty of the CMC joint is preferred over trapeziectomy in active patients who wish to maintain thumb strength and range of motion.
Eaton stage IV CMC osteoarthritis involves degenerative changes extending to adjacent joints, especially the scaphotrapeziotrapezoid (STT) complex.
Treatment choice depends on the degree of STT involvement and patient age.

Indications for arthroplasty:
⚠️ Selective indication. May be combined with other surgical approaches, such as STT arthrodesis, in carefully chosen patients.
The ELiS implant restores physiological thumb mobility, relieves pain and discomfort during movement, and helps patients regain natural hand function while preserving muscle strength.

”The ELiS total endoprosthesis is my first choice for treating basal thumb arthritis thanks to its modular design and broad range of cup options, including single or dual mobility and spherical or conical shapes.
